An artificial intelligence project developed by a primary school in Chaoyang district, Beijing was highlighted at an international education conference at the University of Helsinki in Finland on Friday.

An AI-plus student performance assessment system made by the Hujialou Central Primary School was unveiled during the fifth PDC International Education Conference.

The new AI system tracks students' research depth, collaborative effectiveness and iterative optimization skills as they tackle real-world problems, creating a multidimensional growth trajectory.

"The system allows each child's developmental milestones to be accurately captured and gently encouraged," said Ma Jun, the primary school's principal.

"By leveraging AI, it revolutionizes educational assessment, shifting the focus from merely judging outcomes to supporting and nurturing growth."

During the project showcase, students from China and Finland jointly launched a global youth sustainable action initiative, using project-based learning to transform academic exploration into concrete solutions for global challenges such as climate change and ecological conservation.

The Project-Driven Creation (PDC) concept, an educational innovation developed independently in China and the recipient of a national teaching achievement award, has been implemented in more than 400 schools across 29 provinces.
