The First Collegian's Forum held in Beijing

Student International Communication Association (SICA), a student's organization in Beijing University, held the first Student's Forum of Beijing Colleges and Universities on May 25th, 2002.

This year's forum focuses on Chinese Collegian and Globalization. Students from more than 5 Universities, such as Qinghua University, Beijing Foreign Language University and The University of International Business and Economics, wrote thesis for the forum and only 6 entered the period of presentation. The collegian authors expressed their understanding on the impact of globalization to Chinese culture, Intellectual Property Rights, human resources as well as Chinese College students.

After experts gave out their comment on each topic, the audience asked sharp questions to authors in the Q&A period. In the whole forum, the debate on the topics that concerns with globalization, was hot. The recent world affairs, like 9-11, Bush's visit to China, was also included in the discussion.

As China entered WTO, the discussion on how to deal with globalization was soon spread throughout China. Chinese College students, too, pay very much attention on it.

The First Collegian's Forum hosted by SICA in Beijing University has been paid attention by many famous scholars not only in the Universities in Beijing, but also some famous persons in the art field and economic field. Chinese film director Xie Fei, the Chief editor of magazine Speech and Speechcraft Shao Shouyi, the CEO of Hua Long Security Ltd. Lei Yuan joined the forum as commentators.
