2025 First Class of the New Semester for International Students in Jiangsu Held at NJUST
The 2025 First Class of the New Semester for International Students in Jiangsu, hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, was held at Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NJUST) on Sept 19.
More than 320 directors and teachers of International Education departments and representatives of foreign students from 12 universities across Jiangsu province attended the event.
Alissa Kacem, a French student from Hohai University, and Josh Moo, a Malaysian student from Jiangsu University, spoke as representatives, sharing their expectations and first impressions of Jiangsu. They hope to study well and become emissaries of scientific, technological and cultural exchanges between China and their home countries.
Abid Ullah, a Pakistani alumnus of NJUST, and Amirdzhon, a Tajikistan alumnus of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, as outstanding alumni representatives, shared their experiences on studying in Jiangsu and wished the new students a wonderful life in Jiangsu.
An award ceremony was also held for the twelve representatives of the awardees of the "Jiangsu Government Scholarship—Outstanding Students Scholarship". Yang Shubing, Li Qiang, Li Jin and Liu Jiandong presented awards.

The First Class of the New Semester for International Students in Jiangsu is not only a way to get students motivated for the new semester, but also for Jiangsu to open up its educational system to the outside world and deepen cultural and people-to-people exchanges. It helps students from all over the world to understand Chinese culture and Jiangsu, while also encouraging international students to become messengers of mutual understanding and to work together to create a better future.
