The inaugural China-Switzerland international youth painting competition exhibition made its stop in Qidong, Jiangsu province on Tuesday.

Hosted at the Qidong Art Museum, the event, themed "discovering future art ambassadors," features over 100 artworks by young talents from the two countries, celebrating creativity and cross-border friendship through the language of art.

In her opening remarks, Yulia Jin, General Manager of Swiss Centers China, hailed Qidong's role as a key stop in the exhibition tour and pledged the centers' commitment to fostering trust and collaboration between the two nations and advancing partnerships in business, education, technology, and culture.

The exhibition features diverse styles and perspectives, with young artists transcending linguistic barriers to convey shared artistic passion. Fifty young participants from Qidong submitted their works, 10 of which were shortlisted for the competition. After the Qidong leg, select pieces will travel to Basel, Switzerland, for further display.

Launched in April 2025, the competition honors the 75th anniversary of Sino-Swiss diplomatic relations. It has drawn submissions from primary and secondary students across Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, and Switzerland.

A digital showcase of winning works debuted at the event.
