Stone carving, known as the art of "stone and blade", is a national intangible cultural heritage that originated in the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220) and has been passed down for over 2,000 years. Quyang stone carving, renowned for its intricate craftsmanship, features a wide range of materials such as marble, jade, wood, ivory, bronze, and stainless steel. The art includes various techniques such as full-round carving, openwork, hollow carving, and reliefs, with themes covering modern figures, garden sculptures and home decorations.

Hebei Xinte Garden Architectural Sculpture Intangible Heritage Workshop emerged based on the Quyang stone carving tradition. According to Gong Xupeng, a county-level inheritor of the craft, the workshop blends traditional skills with modern design trends and utilizes the "intangible heritage + internet" model to expand its market reach.
