The 8th Digital China Summit concluded on May 4 in Fuzhou, East China's Fujian province, with total project investment amounting to 228 billion yuan ($31.52 billion), a 12 percent increase compared with the previous summit, China News Service reported on Sunday.

Covering areas such as AI, robotics, computing infrastructure and internet medical services, a total of 455 key digital economy projects were signed at the summit - an 8 percent increase from the previous event.

The summit also attracted over 360,000 visits and hit a new high. More than 40 forums and events were held during the summit, with companies constituting by 70 percent of participants.

A series of policy documents were released, including reports on digital China development and the national data resource survey, serving as strategic guidance for future digital development.

A 56,000 square-meter on-site interactive area opened to the public, attracting scores of tourists during the May Day holiday. More than 100 interactive experience projects were offered and at least 30 physical models were on display, with over 65 percent of them being showcased for the first time.

More than 60 companies have secured tickets in advance for next year's summit, according to the China News Service.
