A new chapter in vocational education and intangible cultural heritage preservation began as the Beijing Arts and Crafts Technician College held its inauguration ceremony on Tuesday.

"After years of careful preparation and constant effort, the dream of establishing the Beijing Arts and Crafts Technician College has finally come true," said Liu Jinfang, president of the college.

Liu pointed to the college's achievements, and outlined its future vision of preserving cultural heritage, empowering education through technology, and expanding global perspectives.

She affirmed the college's dedication to nurturing master artisans who will drive the development of Beijing's arts and crafts industry.

Zhao Xiutao, deputy director of the vocational capacity development division of the Beijing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, outlined the college's priorities in strengthening academic management, developing infrastructure and enrollment, enhancing faculty development, and expanding advanced technical training.

Duan Tiyu, chairman of the Beijing Gongmei Group, a major force behind arts and crafts development, pledged to collaborate with the college over talent development and industrial innovation, in a mutually beneficial partnership between education and enterprise.

Wang Xiaobing, an inspector from the Beijing Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, commended the college's accomplishments in vocational education, and urged continued progress in deepening industry-academia integration, advancing cultural innovation, and strengthening international exchange.

Following the ceremony, there was an exhibition of jade carving, lacquerware, gold inlay, filigree enamel, calligraphy, and paintings by members of the faculty and students.

The pieces demonstrated masterful traditional techniques and contemporary creativity.
