China Science Fiction Convention 2025 kicked off on Friday at Shougang Park in Beijing, attracting over 1,000 representatives from the fields of technology, science fiction literature, film and television industry, and industrial sector from more than 20 cities across China, as well as over 60 foreign guests.

With the theme of "Creating the Future with Scientific Dreams", the event is co-hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology and the Beijing Municipal Government.

During the event, over 30 activities, including the opening ceremony, professional forums, competitions, industry promotion activities and public events, as well as the 2025 Beijing Science Fiction Carnival will be held.

He Jun, vice-chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, said at the opening ceremony that the conference has become an important platform where technology and humanity intersect, and science fiction and the economy merge.

"In recent years, the association has closely collaborated with the Beijing municipal government to promote science fiction creation, industry research, talent development, and the innovative integration of science and film," he said. "Science fiction, as the most diverse, vivid, and creative component of science popularization, should fully play its enlightening, visionary, and reflective role in technological innovation."
