Events for the 2nd Golden Panda Awards, which recognize outstanding global contributions in film and TV, are scheduled to kick off in Chengdu, Sichuan province on Sept 12. The event, organized by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Sichuan provincial government, is held biennially.

The event will feature a rich array of Sichuan-themed welcoming activities, an international cultural forum, and an award ceremony where the winners of four categories — documentaries, animations, TV dramas and films — will be unveiled.

Moreover, the event will offer participants from China and abroad an opportunity to observe giant pandas up close, organize various film screenings, and launch the "Our Panda" short video and graphic global submission campaign. This initiative aims to collect works related to giant pandas, promoting a worldwide collaborative storytelling project highlighting the touching tales between humanity and these beloved animals.

The Golden Panda Awards held its inaugural ceremony in September 2023 in Chengdu and attracted over 7,000 submissions from around the globe. More than 1,500 guests attended.
